Q. Why did the bank need a brand refresh?
A. We’re growing and changing along with our customers, and we’ve expanded our footprint into North Dakota by acquiring a bank in Fargo that will merge into the Border Bank family later this year. It was time to refresh the brand to celebrate our growth, while honoring our deep roots in Minnesota.
 
Q. Will my account number stay the same?
A. Yes, your account number(s) will remain the same.
 
Q.  Will the bank’s routing number stay the same?
A.  Yes, the bank’s routing number will remain the same.
 
Q.  May I still use my old Border State Bank checks?
A.  Yes, your current checks will continue to work. When your supply starts running low, call us or visit our website to order a new supply. If you order checks from another vendor, please provide them our new name: Border Bank.
 
Q. Will I get a new debit card?
A.  Border State Bank debit and ATM cards will continue to work. Shortly before your current Border State Bank card expires, a new Border Bank card will be mailed to you. Card numbers will not change.

Additional Useful Information:
  • Effective June 24th, we will have a few changes to the following debit card services:
    • Card Activation and PIN changes: Card activation and PIN changes will be done through the IVR. (Interactive Voice Response System) at the following number: 800-992-3808
    • Lost or Stolen Cards: Report lost or stolen debit cards directly to your branch, or customer service at 218 528-4255. After hours call 800-472-3272
    • Card Alerts and Controls through our website will be replaced with Card Valet. Cardholders can enroll their debit cards in the Card Valet app and set up alerts and controls, including turning your card off and on, with a greater variety of criteria selections.
    • If a transaction on your card is flagged for potential fraud, you may receive a call or text message to verify the validity of your transaction. (The call will be generated from 800-279-2674.) Please make sure to update your contact information with your banker, or Customer Service at 218-528-4255.
  • Our Mobile App will be updated with our refreshed branding and Border Bank name.
    • For users that have the mobile app installed on their device and have their settings applied to automatically update apps when available, their app will automatically update. 
    • For users that do not receive updates automatically, they will need to download the update for the new version once it is available.
