Greater control over your debit card is just a tap away. Our debit card management and spend tracking feature, easily accessible in our mobile banking app, offers a multitude of debit card management functions that create control, convenience, and transparency for debit card transactions. Turn your debit card On or Off, receive transaction alerts, add travel plans, and so much more!

How do I access the new debit card management and spend tracking feature in the Border Mobile Banking app?

Accessing our debit card management and spend tracking feature is easy! Once logged into the mobile banking app, click “My Cards” to access all the great debit card management and control features.

What are the key features/benefits of the debit card management and spend tracking feature?

Our debit card management feature allows you to:

  • Turn your debit card on and off. When the card is off, no purchases or withdrawals are approved except for previously scheduled recurring payments. 

  • Enable controls to restrict debit card usage based on location, spend limit, merchant type, and transaction type.

  • Set alerts for debit card usage or when an attempted transaction is declined. 

  • Keep track of merchants with stored card information for future purchases and merchants drawing recurring payments. 

  • Understand spending clearly with quick spending insights and transactions enriched with clear merchant names, logos, interactive maps, and contact information.

  • Add travel plans to allow debit card transactions in specific destinations, eliminating the need to call the bank.

  • Quickly and easily report a lost or stolen debit card with just a few taps.

  • View a digital card on a mobile device and easily add it to digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay.

What happened to the CardValet App? Do I need two apps?
  • No. The debit card management and spend tracking feature is integrated right into Border Bank’s mobile banking app, so no additional app is necessary. Select the My Cards tab from the home page of the mobile banking app to access the alert and control features.

  • Beginning February 16th at approximately 10pm CT, access to the Card Valet app will unavailable. You will no longer need to access this app and may delete it from your device. 

Will card alerts and preferences I had set up in CardValet migrate to the debit card management feature in the mobile banking app?
  • Yes. Any alerts and preferences currently set up in the CardValet app will migrate over to the debit card management feature in our mobile banking app. If you did not have alerts or preferences enabled or did not use CardValet, all alerts will be enabled and can be adjusted by accessing My Cards.

How to Sign Up for Mobile Banking

  1. Go to the App Store or Google Play Store, and search for “Border Mobile Banking” or select one of the links below.
  2. Download the Border Bank app
  3. If you are already signed up for online banking, enter your username and password. If this is your initial login from this device, you may need to answer your security challenge question.
  4. If you are not already signed up for online banking, you may enroll directly from the app!
